As you can already see, the GSA site has been updated. We have changed the format from our old piano black, after so many years so as to work on a new, more modern look. Sniper and I have been working on a few things, and soon more updated pages will be coming.
Please bear in mind, the new fonts and the new theme may have made formatting on some pages a little different than before, so some stuff may be out of place. We’ll be going over every page and updating everything.
Some pages may soon be thinned out, removed, heavily changed, and possibly merged with other pages.
Check em’ out. They’re still new of course, and the leader boards aren’t quite filled out… Or balanced very well, yet. But, it’s best to get it started.
Now, as for the upcoming game nights.
On February 17th, we’ll be hosting a big game night, and partnering with Noune’s KTSC again. If you’re new, that means that for every player who joins us, 1$ will be donated to help fight lung cancer. Last time, we raised 129$, but I’m hoping we can do even better this Friday.
February 17th: GSA Gamenight, cooperating with KTSC event.
March 3rd: GSA Gamenight.
March 10th: GSA Gamenight.
March 17th: GSA Gamenight.
March 24th: GSA Gamenight.
Also, on the 17th, we’ll be testing out using playlists. Unless other maps are suggested, we’ll be holding quick votes on which map to play next for each round, from a pre-selected list. This should help to keep things moving quickly, which will solve issues of indecisiveness we’ve had previously.
Just a quick post here, to give everyone an update.
First of all, game night is of course next Friday. I’m happy to announce that we will be supporting Noune’s project, Kill to Stop Cancer. For every player who joins us, the NIR will donate 1$ to help fight lung cancer.
Also, as many of you have probably noticed, the GSA site has been updated a bit. Updates will continue for the next few days, and we hope to shape things up a little better. Have a look around, and see what’s new, but remember that things aren’t finished yet.
Some posts may be made soon regarding changes to policy. I’ll get back to you about those changes, hopefully soon.
Two years ago, today, marks the loss of the visionary, Monty Oum. Well known for his work with Rooster Teeth, particularly on Red vs Blue and RWBY, he was an inspiration to many, through his creativity, work ethics, and attitude.
Today, he wishes to inspire you, too. February first marks a day that everyone should be inspired- Go and begin working on something you’ve always hoped to create. Write the first page of your own story. This is the legacy he would have wanted to leave- To continue to inspire the great creativity in people.
GSA has a truly long and varied history. We have now persisted for six years, and have had hundreds of people join our clan and leave. Over the years, dozens of those people influenced our history and shaped us into the clan that we are today. We might look back and laugh at certain melodramatic moments, but we cannot deny that those occurred, and we must document them in one permanent location for future members of GSA to see. In order to do this, I have decided to create a comprehensive record of GSA’s history, whose process will be divided into three steps:
Step One: Gathering the History
This is to be done with the help of our current membership and also past membership. No one person, however long they have been in the clan, can possibly remember all of the things that have occurred in it, so this is necessarily a group effort. If you have any good facts that may be obscure, please post them in the comments below.
Sadly, many of our old websites have been lost to time, but I managed to save a few and compile them into what I call the “GSA Archive”. I will look through this archive and use it for this compilation.
Step Two: Writing the History
While the facts alone are interesting, to an outside observer they are confusing. A lot of explanatory writing will have to be done in order for the work to be coherent to members with no knowledge of our history.
Step Three: Publishing the History
The history will be split up into seven eras (subject to change) based on the evidence I currently have. Each era will be split up into separate entries and will be published both on the main page and on its own History page. You are welcome to criticize them as they are published and amendments will be made accordingly.
GSA deserves a record of its history not just for its future members, but also for its past members who spent so much time trying to improve their clan. It would be a tragedy if all of their efforts went unrecognized and forgotten. I hope that this will suffice.
1. Go through the site and renovate it. Removing anything that is strictly pb2 roleplay based. Including renovation of the laws and the removal of laws that will no longer apply to us in our new expansion.
2. Attempt to expand into as many gaming communities as possible without over-exerting ourselves. This means we play games together on steam, in-browser, and even on console. Anything and everything.
3. Divide the members list into 3 sub categories, those of us whom play In-browser, the ones who play console, and the ones who play the steam/download games. (Keep in mind that the Administrators have authority over all of these groups, even if they don’t play in that group very often. If you’re in GSA, then you are subject to GSA government.)
Please give feedback. If insufficient complaints are received, then this will become set in stone.
I know many of yall will crap your pants and whine and throw temper tantrums, but it’s time yall stop acting like babies and let this change come. The only thing that can be relied on is change. To just keep rolling with the many changes going on in gsa, we the FG would like the members of gsa to suggest a name that we can change to. Though the option to keep our name GSA is there, it won’t be fitting to the changes to come. The first 10 names that are deemed appropriate and useable will be voted on.
NO NAMES THAT ARE INAPPROPRIATE, DEROGATORY, POLITICAL, OR JUST PLAIN STUPID WILL BE ALLOWED
As you may know, there are many divisions in GSA that are redundant or simply not used. I propose we move these divisions (see below) to the Archives section. 2 Divisions are also outside their parent for some reason, I can’t fix it because I’m not an admin on the site.
If/when a Councillor “approves” this post I’ll turn it into a vote for each division.
Tis been approved!
Vote + to move division to archives, and vote – to keep the division
